WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
*HYMN      Red 193 vv 1,5. Spirit of God , Descend upon my heart
Spirit of God, Descend Upon My Heart Red 193

Spirit of God, descend upon my heart;
Wean it from earth; through all its pulses move;
Stoop to my weakness, mighty as Thou art;
And make me love Thee as I ought to love.

Teach me to love Thee as Thine angels love,
One holy passion filling all my frame;
The kindling of the heaven descended Dove,
My heart an altar, and Thy love the flame.

* CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 139
Leader: With my voice I cry to the Lord; with my voice I make supplication to the Lord.
People: I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him.
Leader: When my spirit is faint, you know my way. In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.
People: Look on my right hand and see— there is no one who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me; no one cares for me.
Leader: I cry to you, O Lord; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
People: Give heed to my cry, for I am brought very low.
Leader: Save me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me.
People: Bring me out of prison, so that I may give thanks to your name. The righteous will surround me, for you will deal bountifully with me.
*INVOCATION
 Thou art hidden as in spaces we have never seen nor dreamt of. Praise be thy mystery, O God. Thou wast in the world in Jesus Christ as a fire in the flesh, a fellow sufferer in the body, a redeemed from death. Praise be thy salvation, O God. Thou art with us now in the Holy Spirit, as an assurance against fear, as a hand that blesses and guides, as a seeing though we are blind, as a gladness deep in every sorrow. Praise be thy compassion, O God. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*CLOSING HYMN Black 286 1,4 Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness
Spirit, Spirit of gentleness,
blow through the wilderness calling and free,
Spirit, Spirit of restlessness,
stir me from placidness,
wind, wind on the sea.

1 You moved on the waters,
you called to the deep,
then you coaxed up the mountains
from the valleys of sleep;
and over the eons you called to each thing:
""Awake from your slumbers
and rise on your wings.”"

Spirit, Spirit of gentleness,
blow through the wilderness calling and free,
Spirit, Spirit of restlessness,
stir me from placidness,
wind, wind on the sea.

4 You call from tomorrow,
you break ancient schemes.
From the bondage of sorrow
all the captives dream dreams;
our women see visions,
our men clear their eyes.
With bold new decisions
your people arise.

Spirit, Spirit of gentleness,
blow through the wilderness calling and free,
Spirit, Spirit of restlessness,
stir me from placidness,
wind, wind on the sea.
